Here is the problem with locally grown stuff. What can you grow today in Georgia? If you went to a store and only the produce from Georgia was there,it would be slim pickings. In California and other places there is a lot of stuff growing today like lettuce and as soon as its picked there will be more planted or another crop planted and this never stops.Unless you can somehow store your produce a long time it will be a while before you can get fresh lettuce again especially the further north you go. Nothing wrong with growing different crops, but California Florida and Texas will still play a big role in this because they have a double or triple crop of stuff to fill in the gap when localities cant fill the need. Also farmers are set up for corn and beans now.For them to switch they would need to change and buy new equipment and laborers to plant and harvest.Lots of them wont do it.Plus thats a big gamble since you dont say how you get those chain stores to buy anything from the farmers. If they wont buy, because they own farms in California and dont want you to know it,what will change their mind. Also their price would be so low that farmers wouldnt want to probably. Besides that its a good idea. Also its kind of been happening a little here and there but usually by big companies.Big companies would swoop in if they caught wind of a profit and screw it up for the regular farmers is my opinion could be wrong.

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
