Low houred engine, good compression. New points condensor, cap/rotor, plugs and wires. Rebuilt carburetor just so I would know what I had. Timing is set with engine running above 2000 rpm. Seems that it is running lean, I pulled the plugs and they are white. Engine has a slight miss to it, unless I pull out the choke some, so leads me to believe it needs more fuel. Seems to run a bit better when it is loaded up. But the white plugs make me nervous, dont want to blow a hole in the pistons. I was always told these engines run a bit rich, funny the plugs show white, but it will make my eyes water if I let it idle inside. I have checked the float setting and it is correct according to the book. It also has a new fuel pump. Not sure what to do next.. Could it be a valve clearance issue or do I need a new carburetor? Not sure what to look at next.. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
