Hey, at least the turkeys in the photo fend for themselves - and don't rely on our taxes and/or printing new money - and making our's more worthless.
Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be our national bird instead of the Bald Eagle. Maybe he had something, since the Eagle often eats road kill like a vulture.
I remember back 50 years ago when seeing a turkey in NY was rare. Re-instating them in one of the few things the State conservation department ever did that actually worked. Now?? They've been catching turkeys here in big canon-fired nets and sending them up to Québec - since the Canucs want them too. How do you say "gobble-gobble" in 17th century Français?
