yeah... very expensive to live "on the economy" there. If memory serves, buying "petrol" on the economy was somewheres around $3/imperial gal when I got there... then it got expensive! I don't profess to be an economist, but it's my understanding that inflation occurs when money is too readily available... easy money makes things cheap... people buy... creates more demand... prices start to rise and the cycle starts again. The Fed uses higher interest rates to control the supply of money (it becomes more expensive), so the economy slows down... again, the need for the "balancing act" If we're looking to blame, I like Mr Greenspan... seems his moneraty policy lead us down the path
