As a part time employee for my families auction company, I can say that: 1. It is an incredibly large task to organize a sale, and often times does not pay as well as it should (been there done that). 2. We do not and will not ever charge a buyer to purchase items we sell. If it were not for buyers showing up, there would be no auctions.
Rwieland, you say the reason for charging a BP is because of parts strung out everywhere, and you may not normally charge a BP, but I can tell you that any auction company that would charge a BP is too greedy. If a company cannot make enough money without charging a BP, they probably shouldn't be in business anyway. A BP is just a way for an auction company to underbid its competitors, and then often times try make more money than it would have or should have by charging the buyers.
