1966-1974, army, some active duty time and some reserve time. post mp, field mp and then to stockade mp. did manage to stay in the states and in the southeast. boot camp was in wwII barracks, took some adjusting to the the toilets, lined up just as in no time for sergeants movie. remember also fire watch; however, we were not expected to fire the coal fired boilers. pay as e1 was approx. $100 a month but took out for every thing, lock on foot locker, laundry and even haircuts. do not remember what final pay as e5 was when i got out as i was in the reserves then. good times but glad they are in the past.
