Rob I am not familiar with the MF188 but if it is like the MF165 175 & 185 there is a short tube that goes from the IPTO pump to the suction for the three point it is sealed with an O-ring on each end I have had them to slip out of one end a time or two far enough the O-ring would not seal this will let them suck air & cause them to do what your hydraulics are doing the only other thing I have seen do this is a plugged Filter.
