Sorry you had problems with yours. I have a 92 Ford that I bought new. When the speed limit was 55 I got 24 mpg. Now I have 116,000 and get 17 mpg in town driving. I have had to replace glow plugs on occasion and had a belt idler lock up at the 112,000 mile mark. Put in 2 sets of batteries and one u-joint. I am currently replaceing the brakes shoes and pads now. I have always been a little disappointed with pulling heavy loads, but it always got me there. I have been wanting to try a dodge with a cummins. Maybe one of these days I will take a chance and try one. The reason I am a little leary of them (cummins) is because a good friend of mine a school bus mechanic. He tell me that the cummins will only last 98,000 to 108,000 miles in a school bus. Then he has to overhaul them. The schools system has a couple of older Internationals that have over 212,000 miles on them and he has only replaced the head gaskets on them.
