Nope, not chasing calves yet. Just keeping things going here is about all. Lets see, left the house just before 6:30 to do chores this morning. Finished up around 8:30 and then went picked up a friend and we both went and picked up parts at the Vermeer dealer down at Plymouth. Stopped in and looked at some equipment on a upcoming auction along the way near Roseville. Had lunch at a small cafe in Bushnell on our trip, he bought. Dropped in at Neff co in Avon and had a chat with the guys in the shop. Went up town and got a couple parts. Seems like the intake heater on the 7520 may not be working quite the way I think it should. Back home around three. Tinkered on the tractor. Did chores then a quick trip to farm king and back home and in the house by 6:30.
I've got the manure spreader tore apart in the shop. Seemed like a minor job to replace a worn bushing but it is taking longer than I thought. Combine is still in the shop needing cleaned up if I can catch a nice day it would be nice. Need to haul some corn. The guy working on the 4630 has it apart and I got the parts on the way to put it back together. Needed a clutch housing a couple shafts and some gears, good thing there are alot of 4630's in salvage yards. Supposed to go help a friend get some things ready for a upcoming auction most of the day tomorrow. Supposed to help another friend work on his truck tomorrow afternoon. Have to get the spreader parts picked up tomorrow afternoon before I do chores. Will have to spend some time in town tomorrow evening and then most of the day saturday. Sounds like we have a potential snow storm coming again sunday-monday. So Nick and I will try to get eveything squared away first thing sunday before the snow starts and maybe put the snow blower back on if they dont change their minds about the snow. Seems like gettting ready for snow storms seems to help keep them away. So things here are very normal in so much as anything around here is normal. Like we say around here, just "living the dream" everday. I will say I have been enjoying these afternoons with temps near 30.

Today's Featured Article - Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
