30 years ago we had over 50 dairy farms just in my small town in central NY. Many of the biggest ones with new equipment were the first to go under. Now we have two left, both small and family owned. Both use older equipment and do most of their own repairs. One next to me has a Deere 4030, 4020, 2510, 520, 4420 combine, and a B for raking hay, along with and older Ford 545 backhoe and a Deere 350 crawler. The other place is run by a woman and she only uses older 1970s vintage IH tractors. One of her hired hands is an ex IH tractor mechanic (good to have around).

Today's Featured Article - Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out.
