Haa! I heard that. I used to have a half ton ford that I put a 4 speed in. That was one pulling truck. I loaded that thing full of gravel once. We calculated the weight based on the cubic footage of the bed. I had like 9000 lbs on that thing. Getting going was no problem. Now stopping it, well, that's another story! LOL. If I ever had a lot of weight on it, I learned to keep it very very slow. I didn't have near enough brakes. Now if I'd been pulling a trailer, with that much or more weight, now that would have been a death trap. My truck doesn't weight enough to control that kind of weight.
