I'm saddened to hear of J.R.'s passing. Truely a great loss for all of us and to his family my prayers. J.R. and I came to task on a few occasions as he didn't like polished stainless on antique tractors or any tractor for that matter and he was very vocal about it at times. In one e-mail I asked him what he thought about the nice JD 830 on the cover of the October 2002 Green Magazine. He looked it up and replied that it looked very good. I told him that wasn't the first stainless muffler assembly I had slid past him over the years. He corrected me in that muffler wasn't polished! So we agreed on polished stainless and chrome are not his favorite, stainless mufflers that are black are OK. We never argued the point after that. He was always the gentleman regardless and will be sorely missed.
