Well I don't have any of my own biologically speaking. What I do have is a 7 year old little blond headed girl that I inherited when I got married. I'd love to adopt her but she has a half a$$ed support paying, - - - of a bioligical father won't agree to it yet....(look at past posts for the story there)....Then I also have a 14 year old boy who is a "special needs kid" who I helped raise from the time he was 6 months old until he was around 11. In his case he has a, just plain sorry biological father who is now 700 miles away, doesn't pay any support, and spends most of his time in jail for everything under the sun. Once again he isn't mine biologically but I love him just like he was. In this case and his mom were just friends and when she finally met someone they moved a few hours away. Thankfully I still get talk to him once in a while and see him on rare occasions.
Just remember when it comes to kids it's not so much about biology as it is simply making a personal commitment because the love needed to raise a child is the same any way you look at it.
