All comments sound good. We just bought a new Dodge 3500 4X4 w/HO Cummins - 6spd. The dealer instructed us not to idle over 30-40 minutes. I guess the engine will start to build up deposits on the 24 valve system which could cause them to breifly stick when you get moving again. If the valve sticks a piston could smack it and then you could develop real problems. Also, when you have been working it hard to always let them idle or operate under 1000 RPM for a while before you shut them down so the turbo can cool down and prevent it from possibly seizing.
