Joe, Most decals are made of clear vinyl with printing on them. vinyl will be attacked by most solvents used as thinners and diluents in the paint or clear coat. I wouldn't advise clear coating over the decals without trying on a sample to see what happens. Most likely the solvent will cause the vinyl to swell and result with wrinkles and puckers afterwards. If the decals are made of mylar, you may be able to overcoat, but still test with a spare decal and spraycoat over it. Ken McWilliams
