Hi Joel, I don't have a crystal ball, and I'm not an expert in the field, but I have been around and/or involved in several alternative fuel/engine programs. For the majority of users, every alternative fuel option has technical, logistic, or cost problems that make them less desirable than what we're presently doing. Over the past 25 years not all that much has been added to what we knew about the subject in 1975. That being the case, if all research on alternative fuels was stopped today, not much would be lost. I'm all for finding better ways of doing things, and one never know what lies behind the next door, but at this point in time improved technology offers more promise. Over the same 25 years that saw no breakthrough in alternative fuels, engines and vehicles have improved dramatically. Compared to what has come before, modern engines and vehicles are amazingly clean and efficient, but they're going to get even better. That being the case I wouldn't worry that we are walking away from the answer to our future energy needs. If you want to hang Bush that's your business, but I'd look for a better reason...Al English
