For goodness sake! I don't know what people are getting so upset about. You can use a tow bar or build, borrow, buy, or rent a hitch that would avoid the chain problem. That way you don't need two drivers. Lots safer too. However, if you still insist on a chain tow, taking it real slow is something to be sure and discuss with your tow vehicle driver. There was an amusing if somewhat scary story a while back about a guy who asked his wife to tow his Ford 8N home after it died on him. She agreed and they hooked the station wagon up to the Ford. She towed him home at around 35, and those old tractors get all sorts of shimmies, shakes, and wobbles at any speed above 15. They all survived.
