Worst truck I ever owned is my 1969 Dodge W200 Power Wagon (still have it as a farm truck). Doors fell off it when it was only 8 years old. I've replaced the transfer case twice, fixed the front axle many times and even replaced half the frame twice. Literally cut the truck in half and welded in a new rear frame. Also had to make countless new driveshafts for it. It has the separate transmission and transfercase with a dinky little driveshaft inbetween that has always been a problem. This has to be the worst engineered truck I've ever owned. Also has a top speed of around 60 MPH with the 4.88 axles.
2nd worse was the International Scout II I drove as a John Deere sevice truck. Built like a tractor but also handled like a tractor. And, the sheet metal was the absolute worse I've ever seen on a road vehicle.
Longest lived truck I ever owned is my 87 3/4 ton, 4WD diesel Suburban. Made it to 520,000 miles before the engine blew to pieces. My son now owns it (with a second engine) and drives it in Colorado.
Never had a bad tractor (as far as design goes). But I've had a few Deere 1010s that looked like they were made from left-over parts - and maybe they were. I think the early 2010 Deere ag. tractors were absolute blunders, but I've never been fool enough to buy one.

Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
