About 3 years ago, my mom needed the front wheel bearings replaced in her '96 Taurus. I got two National branded front wheel bearings for it from a local auto parts store. One was American made and had a nice machined finish to the whole assembly. The other was Korean made and the finish was terrible. As I took both of them out of the box and set them side-by-side on the parts counter, you could tell that the Korean made part had not been assembled correctly. I showed it to the parts man and had him order me another one. After getting the replacement bearing the next day, I installed both of them in her car. A month later, the Korean one failed. I got a replacement under warranty, but that did not pay for the labor that it took to replace it.
