Oh boy, gotta get me cranked first thing in the morning dontcha! Social workers decry the lack of men in their childrens lives but what are they doing about it? What man do any of you know that was given a fair shake in any custody case? Hoe many men fight tooth and nail to have a semi normal relationship with their kids only to be rebuffed by the court system and if they win in court only to have the mother ignore the court order without consequences. All a woman has to do is tell a judge that the father yelled at her or slammed a door, and suddenly there is a stay away order and any parental rights go out the window. 38 years ago I got "rosie roundheels" knocked up and like an idiot I felt I had to do the right thing and marry her. While I was serving overseas with the Marines there was a steady parade of guys through my bedroom. At the divorce and custody hearing I was told that her actions were perfectly ok as long as nothing was done with the child in the same room. I was "awarded" 4 days a month with my boy and an endless string of support hearings for the next eighteen years. I would go to pick him up for my weekends and half the time he would be "sick" or at a friends or otherwise not available to me. When I contacted child services I was told that enforcement of an order of visitation was a civil matter and I would need to hire a lawyer and sue for enforcement, which I did and won although the new order was also ignored by her with no repercussions. I should also mention that she was collecting welfare and food stamps for this entire period and she is to this day. When my boy was 14 she dropped him off on my doorstep because she could no longer handle him, After about a year of me being a total hard azz to him, he finally straightened out and today holds a full time job and is pastor of a local Baptist church. So please whenever any of you her of a father getting the short end like this don"t sit back but write or call your state reps and fight for real equal rights in parenting.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
