ford 800 series was a great tractor and i now many guys that with a little elbow grease and a few grand have a very handy tractor despite its age. but 2300 is very cheap so i doubt its running and porobably needs more work than just points. and for your hobby farm it depends on how big your farm and what your wanting to do. if it were me id look for a thousand series ford or an IH 574 or a later model 656 or a 706 and often you can find good massey ferguson tractors like the 165 or 180. but id pass on the 800 series
