Sam's Club tried to pull a bait and switch on tires on me once.
I checked out some tires on a Sunday, then decided I liked the price so I went back on Wednesday to have a set installed. I checked the rack in the store and there were seven tires of that model and size on the rack. I went to the tire shop and was told that model of tire had been discontinued, and they had all been shipped back. The tire replacing them just happened to be $15 per tire more.
I told the guy I'd just seen seven on the rack in the store. He said he'd go back to the warehouse, maybe there were some that hadn't been shipped yet. I didn't go anywhere, and in a few minutes he came with a shopping cart with four of the tires in it. While they were being mounted, I checked the store and there were only three left on the rack.
When I paid the bill, I made a few choice comments that let him know that I knew exactly what was going on.
