Had a friend pass away in December. He was a tractor nut. He had a huge collection that his wife sold off. I bought 2 Farmalls off her just because I know how they were taken care of and I did not want to see them trashed. Anyway...will cut to the chase. She called me last night and said she had one tractor left and wanted me to just take it...no one had an intrest in it. I went over and it is a Fordson Super Major. No power steering, near perfect sheet metal. I recall it had a fuel rod problem where it would stick and not allow the engine to start. I bumped the injector pump with a heavy end wrench, jumped it off and it fired right up. I offered to pay her something for it, and she said to just take the tractor. She is moving to town soon and would not take any money. Bottom line...what do I have? Never had any Ford product at all. Is it worth keeping and fixing...or just get rid of it? Looks like it might handle a shredder for cutting pasture. Sure steers hard though. Thanks in advance for your input.
