hey guys i have a john deere r pup motor i can not get to run the situation is we bought the tractor needing a new crank shaft in the pup motor so i took the engine right apart installed new crank shaft in the pup motor put new rings on the pistons and re assembeled exactly like the shop manual said to had the timing marks lined up on both the crank shaft and cam shaft gears put it all together and when puttin the magneto on i can not get it to fire soon enough for it to run i can get it to fire but will not stay running i took the head off and the piston is about 1" to 1.5" down on compression stroke before the spark plug will fire i have the timing as far advanced as possible and ran out of ideas is there something simple i am missing?
