Mike, when I was a kid, we were about the only ones in our area using IH tractors, since the only dealer in town was JD. We had JD implements, but my dad held out for IH tractors, we had a W4, M, 400 Diesel, and 660 Diesel, which was replaced with an 806 Diesel. Dad always used to give the JD parts guys a bad time whenever he had to get parts for our JD implements. "These danged green things don't last long when you hook 'em to red power", he would always say. Well, he and I both hated that 806, mostly because of the cab. It was loud, hot and dirty. I came home from school one May afternoon and dad had been into town and got himself a brand new JD 4430. All the kids on the schoolbus gave me a ribbing over that. Nice tractor, though. Loved that Soundgard cab.
