The thermostart unit would be a great place to check first, because it is an easy check and an easy fix. Do that first. The Sims pump would have to be leaking fuel past the plungers & barrels into the pump's cambox and then into the engine from around the shaft seal. It could also be a bad transfer pump,as suggested. Either pump scenario would first fill the injection pump cambox with fuel before it spilled over into the crankcase. Drain the injection pump cambox to see if it contains fuel or engine oil. If fuel, consider replacing the transfer pump first, if fuel still migrates into the lower end of the pump, a major injection pump overhaul is indicated.
