The best drill bits are HSS which stands for high speed steel, or heat treated tool steel. O1 tool steel is good H series tool steel is better, with TiN coating which is Titanium nitride coated.
Some names for good drills, Hertel Cleveland twist drill Irwin Check the label as to where they are made. Dont buy drill bits from Home depot or Lowes, they are likely made in China and are junk.
