I've got the second I ever fired, a 20 gauge Iver Johnson, it was old when Grandpa got it, and that was before he married grandma, it would have been 55 or 56 years ago this year. I came across a 16 and got it, too. Also have the 30-06 grandpa got dad and dad never used to kill anything. And a Glenfield model 20 like my uncle used for a barn gun.
I remember reading here sometime recently about a 22LR conversion kit for the AR rifles. Seems to me you swap the bolt and a spring then slide a tube in the chamber and it was ready to go.
I'm not sure what the spring is called, recoil maybe? I'm not real familiar with the AR's, they are a bit out of my price range. The most expensive gun I own is a Judge. And that's only because I couldn't find a used one.
Could someone put a definition to the term "assault rifle" for me?

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
