I did that when I was at SUNY Morrisville in '97-'98 taking Conservation. Stuns the fish so you can sample the streams population and their sizes. You can figure out a lot of information regarding the carrying capacity of the stream.
I was running the probe in one class and there was this pretty blonde carrying the shocker. She lost her footing in a pool and went completely under. :shock: The Professor was hollering and everyone when I turned I saw the cord going under and couldn't see her. I stuck my hand under, caught the backpack strap and pulled her up coughing and sputtering. :lol: Shortly after that we started dating, got married and have been together for nearly 12 years now! :D
