Intec makes good $15 books. Hot Line makes a good $50 2-book set that includes combines, spreaders, skid steers, balers, and more. As to the auctions, who knows what drives them sometimes. Maybe the locals all 'know' something about a tractor & it won't bring much, or on the other hand 2 children both want the machine & the only fair way was to run it through the auction.... As for comparing, remember there are a ton of options, such as the Ford 4-speed, 5-speed, & SoS trannies, and none of the blue books seem to deal with all these options. The SoS should sell for 1/2 or less of a good 5-speed, same tractor. JD has the power shift vs the quad shift, IH has the TA which could be good or bad, etc. --->Paul
