The University of Nebraska tested hundreds of tractors, with the point of weeding out the ones that wasted farmers money, These tests went from WWI almost to the present day, Somewhere is a list of all the tractors tested with details, I've seen a large hard cover book covering the interesting ones. I'm sure a development such as a PTO would be noted in these tests. Happy Hunting, John in Nebraska.
