easy solution: Cut it off just below the bend, take the cutoff part to a good muffler shop and have them make a piece of SS pipe with an expanded section to fit over the remaining stub. Use a wooden block and hammer to install it. If it was a pretty tight fit, it would just stay with the interference. If looser, it could easily be either clamped in place, or 3 short sheet metal screws could keep it on. It might even be decorative. Jim
