Make sure that your point setting is correct. If it"s a side mount distributor I believe its 0.025" and if it"s a front mount it"s 0.015". Using a piece of kraft paper, slide it through the points to wipe off the film that might be on the points from their manuafcture. Also check the timing to make sure that is correct. Check all the wiring and connections in the primary ignition circuit.
With the points CLOSED you should see battery voltage at the ignition side of key switch and at the battery side of the coil. The distributor side of the coil should read near zero. Some of the 6V Fords have a resistor in the primary circuit to reduce the coil voltage down to about 3.5-4V so check to make sure to look for a resistor in the primary ignition circuit. You might wnt to ask this question in the Ford N form. There"s a lot of flathead Ford experienc there.
