Not to dredge up another controversial topic, but just look at the digital TV conversion for a prime example of the complacency/ignorance of the population at large...
The industry ran TV ads, print ads, radio ads for YEARS YEARS YEARS, yet millions were either not aware or not prepared for the conversion, so they had to postpone it.
How could you sit there and watch TV for more than 10 minutes, and not be aware that the conversion was coming? How could you not understand what needed to be done to be ready? Yet, many many people had no clue that they needed a new TV or a converter box, or they were going to lose their precious TV service.
Look at Buzzman's post... People are filling out the census for INCORRECTLY?!?! How??? People are putting a stamp on the envelope??? People are putting their return addresses on the envelope??? It couldn't be much more obvious that there's ALREADY a return address on the envelope, and what the he!! do people think "No postage necessary if mailed in the united states" means???
There are a lot of ignorant people out there...
On another note, Buzzman's 100% right. If you want to complain about the census, take it out on your senator and representative.
