i'm having a problem with a john blue 4400 series piston sprayer pump,i rebuilt it last season due to leaking oil seals, i installed new connecting rod and complete seal kit. i could not calibrate it with the slide rule used for this pump, so i used the ounces per nozzle delivered in 1/10 acre travel distance, set it at 20 gpa worked fine until this year, i wanted to apply 30 gpa ,i set the pump to deliver 32 ounces per nozzle, 12 nozzles on the booms spraying a 36 foot swath 121 feet long,at jogging speed we would catch 32 ounces per nozzle in a measuring cup ,the first i sprayed i got 23 gpa, my question is what could be the problem i've rechecked all my measurements there ok, still don't understand why this pump can't be calibrated with the slide rule, thanks for any help.
