Last evening my wife and I signed the rental papers for a farmhouse, a few sheds, and about 2 acres of farmstead. We have permission to raise a few hogs/calves, cut firewood out of the pasture by the creek and use the old feedlot as a hay stack for expanding our rented field hay outfit. This has been something we have hoped and prayed for (for me since high school).
Not my own farm yet, but a lot closer than a lot in town, and a way better place to raise our 4 boys.
Thought I'd share this so maybe it would give others hope that opportuniy is still out there. I want to give credit though that none of this would have happened without the kindness and generosity of an elderly woman in our church.
