If the N series was too small for any serious work, then why did they sell so many? Clearly this was one of the largest selling tractors of all time, with increasing numbers throughout it's history. If the idea of draft control, allowing less PSI on the ground was so bad, why did every manufacturer switch? I agree that the three point hitch wasn't the geatest system to ever become a standard (I thing a combination of the Snap Coupler by AC and the three point could have been designed), but you have to admit, that the N series got a lot of farmers to go from Horses to tractors. If you want to make an argument for other affordable tractors of the era (1939-1953), I'd like to listen. While we are on the subgect of bad ideas, how about the pedal arrancgement of 9N/2Ns. Take Care Steve
