We bought both hydraulic and engine oil in 55 gallon drums way back when........when we plowed and before we went to no-til. Our first tractor pre-emerge saddle tanks were made for 55 gallon barrels back in the late '50s; they were in the scrap iron pile; we drug 'em out, welded some pipe under 'em to get 'em at the right height and used 'em for a long time to hold the oil barrels.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
