To kill ants in home: mix 1 teaspoon boric acid powder, 6 tablespoons white sugar & 2 cups water. Place this "syrup" in little milk caps or bottle caps along where you see the ants "trailing". The ants eat the syrup and drag boric acid crystals back to nest and die...eventually, about 2 weeks, even the queen will starve when her workers are all dead. Worked for me. This receipe from Univ. of Rhode Island. Good luck.
