I don't doubt it at all. In the late 70's we ordered a new JD combine head. When it got here there was some small pieces packed in a wooden crate. When we opened it the pieces were wrapped in a Spanish newspaper sheets. One of these wetbacks read it to us and the head was made in South America. I think it was Argentena. On the outside of the crate the writing said "Thank you for buying genuine JD parts." I had always thought they were made in Iowa or somewhere up north.
