That there seems to be your problem. There should be an engagement shaft going through the left side of the bellhousing (as seen from the driver's seat). This shaft is used to disengage the hydraulics to ease in starting the 2010s in colder months. Then, once the tractor has warmed up, you turn off the tractor, engage the hydraulics, crank it, and away you go.
It sounds like the lever from your tractor has fallen out. All that would prevent it from coming out is a roll pin, inside the bellhousing, and the lever through the foot rest.
When I bought my 2010, it did not have the lever that went through the footrest, just the shaft to the pump that someone had tied up to keep it engaged.

Thanks for the idea, but I looked where the rod would go through the housing and I cannot see where there is a place for it to connect to anyhting. I pulled off the plate that you remove to grease the bearing on the clutch. Am I looking in the wrong place?
