You should pull the alternator and have it checked where they rebuild starters, generators and alternators. It probably has an internal regulator. You should see charging voltage in the range that Gene suggested 14 to 14.5. Put the battery on charge and check the specific gravity of each cell after it has been charged using a hydrometer. The readings should be close to another like 1.260. If one reads 1.100 you need to replace the battery. Hal
