I have converted 3 or 4 A's to hydraulics like you want to do.

I used a power steering pump and mounted it along side the generator with a tensioner for the belt.
I mounted a control valve back by the drivers seat and installed a cylinder in place of the hand lever.
It required one trip to the machine shop to get a spacer cut down to put the pulley on the gererator shaft to run the power steering pump. Everything else is easily fabricated. Hoses, of course, have to be made to fit but that is about all.
