20 years ago we used it once while filling silo - my uncle (dairy used it once in a while while filling silo - couldn't really say one way or the other whether it worked or not - but was expensive stuff - i don't think it would work on dry hay at all - it is like sugar - it would just fall off - and if it did get in the bale it is supposed to help the right kind of bugs/bacteria grow in silage - not preserve dry stuff.....
