One of my pet peeves is folks who are either too cheap or stupid to not have a name tag on their pets. A collar with an engraved tag is less than $10.00 and microchips not a lot more. All four of my dogs have microchips and tagged collars.
Glad this dog had a happy ending. My English setter tangled with a porky and the vet quit counting quills at 500. It happened in September and in February we'd still find an occasional quill working it's way out.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
