I used my GI Bill money on tech school. One course that I took was Diesel and Truck Mechanics, The head instructor was at least 70yrs old and had been working on diesels most of his life. The only thing he would put an engine together with was Crisco shortning! You know the stuff in a can that is supposed to make your wife a great cook. He would slap it on everything including the cam and I've seen engines fire on the stuff when they were first turned over to build oil pressure. We never had a problem with an engine that was built in our class.
