yes you shuld prime the pump on the timing gear cover there is a pressure relief valve it is a plug with a hex head larger than the bolts that hold the cove on remove thos and behind you will find a spring and a plunger the plunger looks like ashort ror with a ball on it with a small flat spot ion it. with that out pumr oil in the holeso it goes into the oil galeyand runs down to the fropnt main and oil pump.put back togeather and try it. oldart
