After fighting the fire for over 24 hrs the rig collapsed and sunk into the gulf today. There was some hope this morning when the Coast Guard found an enclosed life boat but none of the 11 still missing was found onboard. Rescue crews have covered a 1,940-square-mile search area by air 12 times and by boat five times. The search continues, despite reports by survivors that many of the missing crew were working in the immediate area of the explosion. It is just a matter of time now before they are listed as presumed dead and the search is called off.
If you have a moment say a small prayer for the families of these 11 guys.
