Farmers (in The Netherlands) have traditionally been known as people who complain regularly about all kind of matters. Do you know during which month of the year they complain least? That's February, because that is the shortest month of the year... A more serious one (from my father, who's a lifelong farmer): "If everything would be known beforehand, everyone could be a farmer."
And: "A good work horse has no color" Meaning that appearance or cosmetics are of very little importance if it comes to hard farm work.
