I will keep it short hopefully. Tractor ran fine after a bit of bush-hogging. Shut off tried to start later and no luck. Had this problem intermittently before but usually got it start. Anyway the local folks i talked with advised a number of things to do. 3 of 4 said the coil was probably not the problem but that the points were probably fried. Replaced points and set the gap to .018 on advice of the older and wiser gents even though manual says .015. Put parts back in and then still no start. Talked to neighbor and he had a used front mount coil so what the heck...put it on and it started. However, I now have a loud knock. Motor has always ran smooth. Did I forget to do something while installing the distributer? I do notice in the book info on "basic timing" of the distributer but cannot make heads or tails of it so please humor me my friends. Thanks, Bill
